Elegant and balanced, crafted in old French oak using wild fermentation. Delightfully citrussy on the nose and palate, with a touch of oyster shell and toasty oak.
Vegan friendly.
Review: "It's delightfully fruited and inviting on the nose, showing ripe peach, rockmelon, Gala apple, and nougat characters. The palate displays succulent fruit flavours with silky texture and beautifully infused acidity, finishing supple and delectable. 5 stars." Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
Tasting Notes
Aroma | Lemon and lemon rind, touch biscuity lees with a savoury spicy oak note. |
Palate | Citrus and ripe rockmelon, touch oyster shell with a restrained toasty oak finish. |
Viticulture | Ōhau vineyard is perfect for cool climate wine production. Late, dry autumns provide cool nights, ideal for the slow flavour development during the ripening of the fruit. Using sustainable processes, our vineyard team takes good care of the vines and the land. The vineyard had a lovely season in 2024 with nice early and even ripening and even berry size. |
Winemaking | Winemaker Jane Cooper used native yeasts found on the fruit to start fermentation (a process known as wild, indigenous or native fermentation) in old French oak barrels. The wine was on lees for around 11 months. |
Alc/Vol | 12.5% |
