The finely textured palate delivers plum, cherry and spice, with a touch of dried herbs and toasty oak.
Review: "It's sweetly fruited with savoury nuances, showing red cherry, dried herb, mushroom and nutmeg aromas on the nose, leading to a finely textured palate that's juicy and supple. Well rounded and smooth, it's attractively framed by polished tannins, finishing lingering and pleasingly dry. 4 stars." Sam Kim - Wine Orbit

| Viticulture | Ōhau vineyard is perfect for cool climate wine production. Late, dry autumns provide cool nights, ideal for the slow flavour development during the ripening of the fruit. Using sustainable processes, our vineyard team takes good care of the vines and the land. In 2023 the vineyard benefitted from La Niña while most other wine regions were hit by intense cyclonic weather. The fruit going into the winery had very little disease and excellent ripeness, which made for low intervention winemaking and some lovely aromatic wines. |
| Winemaking | The Woven Stone Pinot Noir is light, aromatic and approachable, reflecting the characteristics of the fruit grown in the vineyard. For this vintage, the fruit was destemmed, and the ferment temperatures kept relatively low to retain aromatics and give good gentle tannin extraction. The wine was prepared for bottling in March 2024. |
