Vegan friendly.
Review: "Complex and enticing, the wine shows dark plum, sweet cherry, fennel, and toasted almond characters on the nose. It's succulent and fleshy in the mouth, delivering silky texture backed by layers of polished tannins, making it splendidly structured and persistent. 5 stars." Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
Tasting Notes
Aroma | Complex and enticing on the nose, with fresh raspberry, cherry and a smoky/charry character from the barrels. |
Palate | Succulent and silky, with a fresh plummy palate. Splendidly structured and persistent. |
Viticulture | Ōhau vineyard is perfect for cool climate wine production. Late, dry autumns provide cool nights, ideal for the slow flavour development during the ripening of the fruit. Using sustainable processes, our vineyard team takes good care of the vines and the land. The vineyard had a lovely season in 2024, with nice early and even ripening on the fruit. |
Winemaking | The Ōhau Gravels Pinot Noir was fermented in stainless steel tanks (80%) and old French oak barrels (20%), with around four months on secondary lees. |
Alc/Vol | 12.5% |
